With a near perfect climate throughout the year, Vero Beach offers a nearly endless array of recreational activities for people of all ages. Water-lovers can choose from some of Florida’s most spectacular and uncrowded beaches, to one of the most beautiful and pristine stretches of the Intracostal. Known locally as the Indian River, this winding saltwater lagoon is abundant with marine life of all kinds and features some of the finest fishing in South Florida. For the more serious angler, the nearby Sebastian Inlet allows for easy access to the Atlantic Ocean and the warm, blue waters of the Gulf Stream.

Those who wish to spend their free time strolling lush fairways and well-manicured greens will be delighted at the number of excellent courses, both public and private, from which to choose. Tennis enthusiasts will also be encouraged by the numerous facilities and clubs the community has to offer.

As for all you baseball fans, Vero Beach is the spring training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers and their Florida State League Class “A” affiliate, the Vero Beach Dodgers. The town enjoys the distinction of being the smallest city in the nation to have its own professional baseball team. The Dodger’s association with Vero Beach dates back over half a century to the Brooklyn era and has been an integral part of the community’s cultural heritage.

The city boasts an extensive municipal park system that offers a number of spacious venues, featuring a variety of amenities. Altogether, Vero Beach provides a nearly perfect backdrop for recreational and leisure activities of all kinds.
